Persuading people that making a jacket can be easy is an important theme for me.
Often the methods used in commercial patterns mean that jackets are much more difficult to make than they need be.
Yes, lined structured blazers are not for beginner sewers, though there are many good guides (scroll down in side menu). But there are many jackets which use the same techniques as a top or blouse.

So far the content here is mainly links to other people’s tutorials on making jackets. I’ve picked out mostly ‘sewalong’ guides rather than snippets of information. Many of them are excellent, but I haven’t read or watched all of them through, let alone worked through all of them, so no guarantee of quality !
